Plein Air and Painting

Finding peace outside and unplugged

Plein Air Painting and Photography

Jensly Baez November 8, 2022

I had the opportunity to visit the park today and do some Plein-air painting. It felt like today was going to be the last nice day of fall before the cold starts taking over so I am very happy that I got the chance to enjoy it. Not only was I able to sit outside and get some painting done but I also managed to snap some photos and pet a few lovely dogs. It was a great experience overall and helped me feel a lot let anxious. Plein Air painting is a joy few get to experience and I hope to expose my students to the joy of outdoor painting with field trips and/ or hybrid classroom education.

I try to keep my setup fairly cheap to avoid overspending on things I don’t get much use out of. I tried so many easels and overpriced outdoor painting stands, but they all did not work, I had the most luck today with my current setup. Two $10 fold-out tables for target, a $5 paint stand from five below, and a beach chair! All in all very effective, comfortable, and affordable.
